About Me

I am a friendly, outgoing, and funny friend. I enjoy acting, singing, dancing, piano, traveling, video games, and hanging with friends and family. I also like to search the web, occcationally text a friend, and go on AIM. The two groups I love being part of are the Youth Group at my church and Girl Scouts. I am very active in my school and do many afterschool activites such as the drama club, schoolplay, community service group, dance (tap) and I am a student government representative for my homeroom.

Why I advocate for online safety.

I think it is very important for teens to promote online safety, because many teenagers fall victim to unfortunate circumstances of cyberbullying. Hearing online safety tips from an adult can be boring. The teen may feel like the adult dosen't understand and is not on the same level as them. When the advice is coming from another teen they might feel like the other person knows what they are going through. I am inspired to advocate teen safety because I want to help save teens from feeling hurt or guilty. I also want to help protect their identity by telling them the danger of giving out your personal information and maybe save their lives from falling into an unfortunate situation.

Q & A

  • What have you done online that you’re most proud of?
  • I am most proud of the video I made with my Youth Group, and it was posted on youtube. It was a response to a video made by a boy I knew who was bullied in my school. We told him that we understood what he was going through and invited him to our Youth Group. He came!
  • Are your online friendships different than your real-life friendships? How?
  • My online friendships are slighty different from my real-life friendships because some people I don't talk to on a regular basis because I don't see them that much, I might talk to more on the web.
  • What would you like to tell or teach your parents about the Internet?
  • I would like to tell my parents that I understand the dangers of the web, but I am respnsible with what I post about my self on websites such as AIM. I also am responible about what i search on the web and look at.
