Favorite season:Spring. Not only is my birthday in that season, but it is finally warm. I love the excitement of getting rid of sweatshirts and putting on capris or shorts.
On a perfect day I'd...Flop somewhere with a book and my cat and just read after hanging out with my friends.
Personal motto or favorite quote:Try until you can't try and then get a book and read
Real-life heroes:Sally Ride, because of her determination to conquer an all-male field, and Parry Aftab because she helped to make the internet safe and usable.
Greatest achievement:Becoming a member of this editorial board and having the chance to speak to kids and adults everywhere about being safe online.

About Me

I am a quiet, shy person who is obsessed with reading. Some even say I read too much for my own good. I really care about school and am involved in about 5 clubs there -- not including Marching Band. I am also very involved in Girl scouting.

Why I advocate for online safety.

Most people think that teens have no clue how to be safe on the internet ... that they are the ones who always get in trouble on the internet because they don't bother to be safe or they want to meet older men. I feel that it is important for teens to teach others so that people can see that teens do care about being safe. I want people to think, "Wow. If teens know how to be safe on the internet, then maybe I should do that too." I feel strongly about the advocating for internet safety because I feel that incidents like Megan Meier's or Christina Long's shouldn't happen. I want to help people prevent another incident like that from happening.

Q & A

  • What have you done online that you’re most proud of?
  • Helping my friends create safe Facebook pages so they don't give out too much information.
  • Are your online friendships different than your real-life friendships? How?
  • No, because I don't really make friends on the internet, so they're usually people I know already. I believe that it is safer that way.
  • How can you help younger siblings or kids be safer online?
  • I think that by telling younger kids or siblings what websites are safe and to NOT SHARE THEIR PASSWORDS. That would help them a lot.
