About Me
If you have ever seen a tall girl with reddish brown hair and blue and yellow braces, and who loves animals, arts and crafts, the computer, and helping people; you have seen me. Throughout the seasons, I am either running track or cross-country, riding my bike, skiing down a mountain, or involved with FIRST Lego League. Just about any point during the year, you can find me in Tae-Kwon-Do, Girl Scouts, Student Council, or Yearbook Club. I am the youngest of three kids, all of whom are four years apart. I have two older brothers, a mom, a dad, and a cat, who is almost as old as I am.
Why I advocate for online safety.
I feel it is important to advocate for online safety because kids today are getting themselves into sticky situations, due to the internet, that are scary and dangerous. They need to know how to get out (and stay out) of them, should they ever get involved. Technology is advancing so quickly and we are getting so many new services that safety is not being as carefully analyzed as it should be. I am inspired to do this because of the above reasons and, while I may be picked on at school, I do not want it to continue into the cyber world, one of my only safe-havens. If I can stop it or at least control it, the cyber world would be so much safer for me and many other kids.
