Don't Be Clueless About Security
Security Practices: Careless and Clueless
There are lots of software programs, tools and features you can use to keep your computer more secure. But unless you decide to be more careful with your actions, you could still be putting yourself at risk. Don’t be your own worst enemy!
- Choose a password that is easy to remember and hard to guess. Don’t save it on a friend’s computer or a computer that others can access.
- When someone promises you an iPod, new computer or $15 billion just for filling out a form or catching the jumping frog, they are lying.
- When someone tells you that they trust you, but they have no reason to because they don’t know who you are…get ready for the con!
- Be careful before you trust a website. Are they really the site they said they are? They may not be if they include a link in a SPAM e-mail!
- The time to find out if a site is safe is BEFORE you download something from that site.
