Activity: Do a Privacy Audit!
Step 1: Start by checking your passwords. How strong are they? Do you have different ones for each site? Are they easily guessed? Change them if they are not 100% right.
Step 2: Create a designer password for most of your favorite sites, and even if you love them lots, don’t share it with your BFF or boyfriend. Bake them cookies (or share a box of Samoas, if you are lucky enough to have a box left) to show your love instead.
Step 3: Check who is in your group or network online and who can access your personal info. Change the settings to make sure you are in control of your info.
Step 4: And read the privacy policies of sites you visit. If you don’t like what they are doing with your info, stop using them and send them an e-mail telling them why. Make it a practice to read them before using the site, next time.
After you’re done, show your friends how to do this too. Then come back and take the poll to let everyone know your findings!
