When you’re looking to protect your privacy online you should think of it like a door.
You can use a privacy setting that’s wide open that lets them see anything they want, anytime they want. Or you can close the door, so only those people who are looking for you would even try the doorknob. You can lock it so anybody wants to get in has to knock on the door and you have to let them in. Those people that you really trust, trust more than anyone else, you can give a key to. That way you can get in any time they want, whether your home or not.
You just need to make sure that you use the right information and the right settings to keep people out that you don’t want to see it, and let your friends in.
